Activities continue at the Cleveland Browns' camp, where all the attention right now is focused primarily on the four quarterbacks fighting for a spot on the team-especially for the starting job. Among them stands out rookie Shedeur Sanders, who, for now, is the fourth option under head coach Kevin Stefanski.
In the competition are two experienced QBs-Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett (Flacco being the more seasoned)-alongside rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. There's also Deshaun Watson, the man with $230 million guaranteed in 2022, but he is currently recovering from an Achilles tendon injury. It's highly likely he won't play for the team again-not because of his injury, but due to his poor performance.
On the first day of OTAs (Organized Team Activities), Shedeur Sanders led the team with three touchdown es and no interceptions. However, this is not yet a reason for fans of the quarterback to celebrate, as all players are going up against defenses that are still giving up a lot. Still, Sanders' mindset might help him rise to the occasion.
Jerry Jeudy had a strong return to training
All the attention at the Cleveland Browns' camp was on Shedeur Sanders, and few noticed what may have been the best offensive player for the Browns in 2024-yes, we're talking about Jerry Jeudy, who has been present and committed to the team since the very first day of training.
Jeudy was one of the players who brought some excitement to the Browns, despite the disaster of last season, which ended with a 3-14 record.
"From today's available images of the Browns' organized team activities, one thing is clear: Jerry Jeudy was no fluke last year. He should have another great year in Cleveland," analyst Jeff Lloyd wrote in a post on X.
In 2024, Jeudy recorded 1,229 yards and 4 touchdowns, played in 17 games, and developed strong chemistry with Jameis Winston, although he faced challenges when the team switched quarterbacks to Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Now, the big question surrounding Jerry Jeudy isn't his talent-that's undeniable. It's who will be his quarterback for Week 1: Joe Flacco, who is the top candidate, or Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, or Shedeur Sanders.
