If you have children under the age of 18 and live in the state of Florida, this information is for you. The Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) program is, as its name suggests, a temporary program that assists eligible families with cash resources in order to ensure that the primary social circle is not broken, making it easier for children to remain in the home.
This financial assistance is for families with children under 18 years of age or under 19 years of age if they are full-time high school students. Once this condition is met and eligibility is qualified by meeting the technical requirements, such as income and asset declaration, the parents are the ones who must apply for it, accompanied of course by the beneficiaries.
How do I know if I am eligible for TCA?
In order to be eligible for the program, families must not exceed $2,000 in countable assets and $8,500 in total value of licensed vehicles needed for individuals subject to the work requirement. In addition, the child must live in the home maintained by one of his or her parents or a blood relative.
This program helps families become self-sufficient and can also benefit pregnant women in their third trimester of pregnancy if they are unable to work.
What day are the TCA resources paid?
According to the program's own official website: "Cash benefits (excluding GAP and Non-Family Caregiver payments) are automatically deposited into the beneficiary's EBT within the first three business days of each month".
Reasons for cancellation of the TCA
"Recipients who use their TCA benefits out of state for more than 30 consecutive days, without subsequent in-state use, will have their TCA benefits canceled (unless the recipient is temporarily absent and intends to return to the state)."
The monthly payments for children with no countable income are as follows:
- 0 to 5 years: $242 per child
- Ages 6 to 12: $249 per child
- Ages 13 to 17: $298 per child
