Shedeur Sanders is already making headlines for his off-field decisions-particularly for his lavish spending.
After being selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the 22-year-old quarterback is reportedly enjoying his $4.6 million rookie contract in bold fashion, starting with a custom luxury car that has fans doing a double take.
Despite an unexpected drop in the draft-after months of first-round projections-Sanders wasted no time rewarding himself.
According to a video shared by his brother, Deion Sanders Jr., Shedeur recently added a custom olive-green Rolls-Royce to his growing fleet. The footage showed the new ride in all its glory, and if you've followed the younger Sanders for long, you'll know he's no stranger to high-end automobiles.
Custom Rolls-Royce raises questions after costly draft slide
The luxury vehicle in question appears to be a customized Rolls-Royce Phantom-one Shedeur had previously shown interest in earlier this year during a visit to the Vegas Auto Gallery.
At the time, he reportedly eyed a Black Diamond edition with Grace White and Peony Red leather accents, valued at $495,000. However, he wanted it in a unique earth-tone green, and it looks like he got exactly what he asked for.
NFL insider Dov Kleiman referred to the purchase as "a much-deserved gift to himself." But fans were quick to disagree. With only $447,380 guaranteed in his rookie deal, and after losing out on potentially tens of millions by falling to the fifth round, many critics on social media expressed confusion and concern over Sanders' choice to splurge.
"He's acting like he signed for $40 million, not $4," one fan wrote.
Others questioned the wisdom of investing so heavily in luxury with so little NFL experience-or income security-so far.
"Gonna be living with his dad again soon," another added.
Sanders, of course, has made it clear that his style isn't changing anytime soon.
He flashed a diamond-encrusted chain reportedly worth more than $100,000 during the NFL Draft and celebrated his selection with a metallic briefcase that some claim held $1 million in cash.
The flashy moment was true to form for Sanders, who developed a public persona centered around flash and flair during his college years at Jackson State and Colorado.
