- Swift. Travis Kelce absent from AMAs: New photos show where Chiefs star's priorities lie
- Swift. Taylor Swift has completely changed his life and now he's pirouetting at the American Music Awards
Pop superstar Taylor Swift walked away without a single win at the 2025 American Music Awards, much to the disbelief of her devoted fanbase. Despite being nominated in six major categories - including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year - Swift didn't score a single trophy at Monday night's ceremony held at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
The singer, who did not attend the event, was also up for Favorite Female Pop Artist, Favorite Touring Artist, Favorite Pop Album for The Tortured Poets Department, and Collaboration of the Year for "Fortnight" featuring Post Malone.
The night proved to be a huge sweep for Billie Eilish, who claimed most of Swift's hoped-for awards. Eilish won Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Pop Artist, Favorite Touring Artist, Album of the Year, and Favorite Pop Album. Meanwhile, Collaboration of the Year was awarded to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars for their song "Die With A Smile."
Despite heavy fan and Easter eggs, Swift came up short
The results were unexpected, especially considering Swift's unmatched legacy at the AMAs. Heading into the 2025 show, she held the title of the most-awarded artist in AMAs history, with an impressive 40 wins.
Swift last attended the show in November 2022, a night that saw her collect six trophies. (The AMAs were not held in either 2023 or 2024, making this year's ceremony especially anticipated.)
In true Swiftie fashion, fans flooded social media in the days and weeks leading up to the event, encouraging others to vote and dissecting potential hints that the star had something big planned.
One theory centered on her official website, where a menu displaying "Apparel, Music, Accessories, Sale" prompted speculation after fans noticed that the first letters spelled "AMAS." Others were drawn to the fact that 12 items were listed at a 26 percent discount-interpreting it as a clue referencing Swift's 12th album and the May 26 award show date.
Taylor Nation also stirred buzz with a cryptic May 6 post on X, writing: "And our town, it looks so sMall from wAy up here. Screamed, 'vote for the chairman' at the night sky!" Eagle-eyed fans noted that the capitalized letters again spelled out "AMAS."
