- Jacksonville Jaguars. Travis Hunter receives more than just praise from Tony Boselli not for his technique, but for something even greater
- Jacksonville Jaguars. Travis Hunter and Jaguars weird training routine could be the unconventional method to snap their losing skid
Travis Hunter is a man of many talents, but a particular activity off the football field is not his strongest skill and he showed it.
The rookie wide receiver and cornerback for the Jacksonville Jaguars has shown the perfect approach to handling the challenge of playing significant starting roles on offense and defense.
Jags head coach Liam Coen has stated that the former Heisman Trophy winner is a "smart dude", as the game makes sense to him. "The more he can do and continue to do, that will only benefit" the team moving forward because "he's the type of guy that puts it in on his own."
Hunter fails at his first off the field assignment
Travis Hunter tried his best to draw a good jaguar but failed miserably, as we can see in a video posted by the NFL social media. The incredible athlete itted that he needed his context clues in order to draw a good feline, and when he was asked if he was going to cheat in order to get the drawing righ, he said "yes."
"It's not cheating, I just happened to walk in with a hat and they're calling it cheating," Hunter explained. He was granted 10 seconds to look at the Jacksonville Jaguars logo and then proceeded to draw, not before he lamented the fact that it was not enough for him to get the image in his head.
"I got this, though. I'm gonna just draw a kitty, I just gotta get my outline first," added the rookie, as he began to draw the mouth of the jaguar. Travis was happy when he realized that the drawing was not that bad, after all. "I messed up the eye, bro, it's not even an eye no more. I don't even know what I just did." Hunter mentioned that he was in art class in high school, which taught him how to be patient, just like on the football field.
Travis Hunter worked on offense during minicamp
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen told the media that Travis Hunter worked exclusively on offense during minicamp, adding that the former Colorado Buffaloes superstar will begin getting defensive repetitions when rookies begin working with veterans on the days ahead.
"On the defensive side of the ball, it's going to be about communication," Coen said. "The technique and fundamentals we'll continue to harp on, but it's really about being on the same page as the rest of the guys on the back end from a communication standpoint and the rest will kind of take care of itself."
The Jags head coach added that "it's just about putting in that extra time that he's going to have to do in order to be successful to play even one side of the ball at this level. So, he knows what's cut out for him, coming up."
