Recent speculation surrounding a potential trade between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets involving running back Breece Hall has resurfaced, though there is no indication from either organization that such a move is under consideration.

The rumors, which initially emerged earlier in the offseason, gained renewed attention following a recent NFL.com report reiterating that there is no substance to the connection.

The timing of the report, coming weeks after the Jets publicly denied any trade discussions, has raised questions about the continued circulation of what many inside league circles consider a resolved storyline.

When asked during the NFL Draft, newly appointed Jets general manager Darren Mougey was direct in dismissing the trade chatter.

"I haven't had any talks with any teams about Breece Hall. He's on the team," Mougey told reporters, reaffirming Hall's place in the Jets' plans for 2025.

Dallas backfield already addressed through free agency and the draft

The Cowboys, meanwhile, have made several moves to reshape their running back room following the departure of Tony Pollard.

In free agency, Dallas signed veterans Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, before selecting Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah in the NFL Draft. The combination of those additions suggests the team is not currently in the market for another featured back.

Hall, 22, was drafted by the Jets in 2022 and produced a strong rookie season before suffering a knee injury.

While he rebounded in 2023 with a fourth-place finish in total yards from scrimmage, his yards-per-carry average has declined each season.

Entering the final year of his rookie deal, Hall's long-term future in New York remains uncertain, but sources indicate the team is not actively seeking a trade.

Despite ongoing speculation, there are no credible indications that a deal involving Hall and the Cowboys is imminent or under discussion.

With both teams having addressed their rosters and with public statements denying any talks, the connection appears to be based more on past rumors than current negotiations.
