- Cleveland Browns. Sanders family rallies round Shedeur after difficult NFL Draft experience
- Cleveland Browns. Jerry Jeudy could make Shedeur Sanders shine, and there's already chemistry between them at the Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are engaged in a battle that may be unique among NFL franchises, and though we're still far from the start of the 2025 NFL season, there's no time to waste. The team has yet to determine who will be their starting quarterback, and this will remain a complete mystery until someone announces the Week 1 starter.
Given this scenario, a key figure closely tied to the quarterback room has spoken in detail about the challenges facing Shedeur Sanders and company.
More details on Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel's process
It's Bill Musgrave, the Quarterbacks Coach, who spoke in an interview for the Browns' official channels about his players, shedding light on the process both Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel are undergoing.
"They've done a nice job, both guys. I think they're becoming more comfortable every day - you know, with our language, with the way we huddle - because, right, they haven't really called plays before. There aren't a lot of huddles in college and high school, which is fine. It's not the college's responsibility to get these guys ready for the NFL - their job is to light up the scoreboard and win games," he mentioned.
"We're just trying to get them ready to call plays, get comfortable with the language, present things in an orderly way, and do the right thing once they get to the line of scrimmage. And they're making strides to do that every day," he added.
So, while it may seem impossible to many, the road to NFL starting quarterback is a long one, and we must all agree that the NFL is a different beast. As Coach Musgrave notes, defenses are increasingly complex.
For now, it remains unknown who will be the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback, but there's no doubt that there's significant expectation surrounding what might happen with Shedeur Sanders, who, to the surprise of many, was selected in a late fifth round.
