In Florida, most households receiving SNAP must apply for recertification and meet interview and verification requirements after six months, according to the state's Department of Children and Families, although rules vary by household. The first month of eligibility is considered the first month of the certification period.

How do I know when I need to recertify?

After receiving the notification, there are several ways to recertify your SNAP benefits in the state:

• By mail: Complete the documentation included with the notification and send it to the local SNAP office.
• In person or by phone: Visit or call your local office and complete the documentation with your social worker.
