The Indiana Pacers came out swinging in Game 4-and so did Pat McAfee.
Early in the fourth quarter, with Gainbridge Fieldhouse rocking, the former Colts punter and current ESPN/WWE personality grabbed the mic and let it fly. Aimed squarely at a cluster of New York celebrities sitting courtside, McAfee labeled Ben Stiller, Spike Lee, and Timothée Chalamet as "sons of b*tches" and called on the Indy crowd to send them back to NYC"with their ears ringing."
It wasn't just a hype job-it was personal.
The moment spread quickly on social media, prompting Stiller to respond later that night on X (formerly Twitter). "Yes. Weird," the actor tweeted. "We were happy to be there and cheer our team and other than that Indy fans were awesome. "
From Courtside Chaos to Twitter Calm, Stiller Chose Poise Over Pushing Back
McAfee's energy matched the stakes-Game 4 was pivotal, and the Pacers delivered a 130-121 win behind a triple-double masterclass from Tyrese Haliburton. The crowd was electric. The celebrity presence was high voltage. Alongside Stiller and crew were rapper 50 Cent, comedian Mike Epps, and a full roster of Pacers legends, including Danny Granger and Jermaine O'Neal.
The heat wasn't just on the court. Days earlier, the Knicks fanbase had drawn fire for reportedly throwing garbage at a Pacers fan, Hans Perez, after Game 6 of the semifinals. When a fan on X brought it up to Stiller, he didn't deflect. "All good. The garbage was bad," he replied-simple, honest, and probably what many Knicks fans were thinking.
Then there was Triple H-yes, that Triple H-also courtside. The WWE exec was there to Haliburton and Jalen Brunson, both of whom appeared on SmackDown last year. His presence? Not a coincidence. He tweeted after the game, "Told you last year these two were built for the spotlight."
No chairs were thrown, but Game 4 had a WWE undercurrent-celeb drama, crowd energy, and a mic drop moment or two. McAfee played heel, Stiller played it cool. The series rolls on, but the memes from this one are locked in.
