In one of the more ill-thought-out events in professional sport, Evander Holyfield's rushed return to the ring ended in a worrying defeat for the former heavyweight champion.

He looked unfit, unprepared and unhealthy as he was stopped by the referee within one-round of his comeback fight taken at short-notice in 2021.

However, there were some winners from that evening and one such individual was former President of the United States, Donald Trump.

Trump, known for his ability to flit from low-brow event to low-brow event since being ousted from the White House in 2020, took home $2.5 million from Evander Holyfield's comeback fight.

Trump provided guest in-person commentary

As part of the festivities held on September 11, Trump was hired to be the host of the fight, and he would even provide live in-person commentary to events unfolding in the ring.

Thankfully, it wasn't a long bout so there was only so much the audience had to hear, but it was still a very lucrative evening for the Donald.

In a report published by USA Today Sports, Trump was paid $2.5 million for his work as color commentator for the Holyfield fight.
