The Chicago Sky slipped below .400 in the 2024 WNBA season with an 83-75 loss to the Connecticut Sun that left head coach Teresa Weatherspoon fuming with Angel Reese and the rest of the team.

A poor second and third quarter saw the Sky post 16 and 17 points, allowing the Sun to enter the final quarter of the game with a five-point cushion, which grew to eight by the time the buzzer sounded at the Wintrust Arena in Illinois.

It left Weatherspoon very angry and promising their record will get better in the future, as she said results matter more than personal growth and learning adventures and explorations.

"It's not like this is fun. Nothing fun about losing, not one thing," Weatherspoon said of the defeat. "It doesn't matter how much you learn and growing, nothing fun about freaking losing. Nothing.

"Doesn't matter about the freaking lesson that you learn, it's still nothing fun about losing. So, we got to correct some things and correct them quickly."

Weatherspoon sees some positive signs

Despite the loss to the Sun, there were some good highlights from the game. For example, Reese posted 20 points, 10 rebounds, one assist and two steals in her fourth double-double of the season.

Meanwhile, Diamond DeShields scored nine points and two rebounds in her return from injury as she continues to nurse herself back to form, so Weatherspoon has a bit of encouragement to be found.

"Every one of them, we going to get better down the stretch," Weatherspoon added. "The way we see it, we recognize what's going on with us right now.

"But I tell you what, the one thing about each one of them is they will get their butts back into the gym and they will work there a**es off to change it."
