Real Madrid vs Manchester City - Champions League 24/25
Updated

Good evening everybody and welcome to another MARCA in English live blog, this time taking you through the second leg of the Champions League knockout round play-offs clash between Real Madrid and Manchester City from the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid enter the match with a slim 3-2 advantage despite falling behind twice at the Etihad in the first leg. Late goals from Brahim Diaz and Jude Bellingham flipped the tie on its head however, with Los Blancos now in the driver's seat.

History points to Real Madrid going through as well, as in the previous 39 occasions they've won the first leg of a knockout game away from home, they've only failed to advance twice.

As for Manchester City, they've been eliminated each of their four previous occasions when they've lost the first leg.

Pep Guardiola's men were given a boost of confidence over the weekend when they swept past Newcastle United 4-0, and they'll need to be at the top of their game once again on Wednesday night if they want their Champions League dream to continue.

Ceballos comments as kick off approaches

With kickoff around 20 minutes away, Dani Ceballos spoke to Movistar about tonight's big game with Manchester City. Here's what he had to say:

"We must be confident to continue and to play a great game".

Zero relaxation: "Seeing yesterday's matches where the big teams suffered a little... there is no time for relaxation and players must be involved from minute 1".

The plan: "The team has responded, I hope today that will continue. It's the most important game of the year. You have to go for the game from minute 1. The coach has told us to keep doing what we are doing".

Can Manchester City pull off the comeback tonight?

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson says expectations are lower for City given how things have gone for them so far this season.

"It would be a huge achievement for Man City to overturn the first leg deficit this evening.

"If we were talking about a Man City team from last season coming here trying to overturn a one goal deficit then you'd think 'Yeah ok, they've got half a chance.'

"As it is, the level of expectation is slightly less than it would have been say six months ago."

Big Manchester City lineup news

Although all signs pointed to Erling Haaland starting tonight, the Norwegian striker can only make the bench tonight after suffering a knock against Newcastle over the weekend.

The three new gs - Khusanov, Nico and Marmoush - all start.

Ancelotti's lineup for tonight's match

Aurelien Tchouaméni returns to midfield, while Antonio Rudiger will form a central defensive pairing with Raul Asencio.

As for the rest of the lineup, it's the same as it has been recently with Valverde at fullback.
