Biles, who had to step back from several events due to the 'twisties,' left a significant void in the U.S. gymnastics team.

Despite Chiles' commendable efforts on the uneven bars and balance beam, she struggled on the floor exercise, which ultimately contributed to the U.S. team securing a silver medal.

Chiles had been in top form leading up to the Tokyo Games, performing flawlessly throughout the season.

However, the high-pressure environment of the Olympics proved challenging.

Her performance in qualifications saw her finishing 40th overall, with notable errors on the uneven bars and balance beam.

Reflecting on her Tokyo experience, Chiles shared her emotional struggle: "I called my mom because I was like, 'I failed. I'm done. This is crazy, and the world's gonna hate me,' bawling my eyes out. So coming back, I [thought] maybe I need just to get the elite world out of my brain. I want to live my college life, go find a man, however it needs to be. But then I kept thinking every day maybe I have more to give. In that moment, I was like, what's there to lose?"

Despite feeling disheartened, Chiles didn't give up on her gymnastics career.

She viewed her Tokyo experience as a stepping stone rather than a setback.

Her determination paid off in Paris, where Chiles and her teammates achieved gold, marking a significant comeback for both her and Team USA.

The Paris Olympics saw Chiles and her team return to the top of the podium with a gold medal around their neck instead of silver like in Tokyo.

Chiles kept up the team's momentum throughout the night and even kept her cool demeanor when she fell off the balance beam but delivered a showstopping performance in the rest of her performances.

Team USA dominated their competition and finished with a combined score of 171.296, more than 5.802 points ahead of Italy (165.494).

Brazil secured bronze (164.497), narrowly beating team Great Britain.

For the Americans, the victory is their third gold in the last four summer games.
