This year, one of the most notable torchbearers, besides Salma Hayek, was 52-year-old American rapper Snoop Dogg, who entertained the crowd with his signature "high" style, dancing and interacting with fans along the route to the cauldron in Paris.
The comments poured in on social media, with fans quipping, "Is it just because it's him carrying it that it looks like a massive blunt?" and "If he doesn't light a blunt with the torch, what are we even doing here?" Another joked, "Good thing he didn't... drop it like it's hot."
Although the identity of the final torchbearer and the exact location of the cauldron lighting remain a closely guarded secret, it has been revealed that athletes will gather on boats on the Seine River. This river, recently cleaned at a cost of 1.4 billion euros, is one of the logistical challenges the French organizers have faced. The cleanup aims to restore the river for the enjoyment of the public once the Games conclude.
