Jalen Hurts continues to be a topic of conversation when it comes to choosing the best Quarterbacks in the NFL, and although he competes with a lot of top level talent, it seems that the Super Bowl champion with the Philadelphia Eagles is still not given his place.
In a sea of divided opinion, he does have some who him, as teammate DeVonta Smith recently did, sending a direct message to Darius Slay and his statements that caused such a stir a few weeks ago.
What did DeVonta Smith say?
"Slay said the 'Big 4,' for me, it's the 'Big 5' and Jalen's in that five," the Eagles receiver said. "The four that he named and then I'm putting Jalen in there. To me, that's the "Big 5." I don't think it's a 'Big 4,' it's a 'Big 5,' honestly," he added.
Those were the words of Philadelphia Eagles star DeVonta Smith, who appeared on the "7PM in Brooklyn" podcast and came to Hurts' defense.
Darius Slay's statements
Who functioned as a good mentor in the Eagles' defense, talked about a quartet of Quarterbacks containing Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Joe Burrow, leaving Hurts out of the equation, a fact that fell badly to more than one.
Jalen Hurts, not enough recognition
While it is true that they are all Quarterbacks from another planet, there is a certain sector that considers that the most recent Super Bowl champion does not get the recognition he deserves. In fact, unlike Lamar, Allen and Burrow, only Patrick Mahomes can boast of being a champion.
