LAPRESSE

Paul Pierce has claimed that Myles Garrett moving to the Philadelphia Eagles would be like Kevin Durant returning to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA.

Garrett is a former Defensive Player of the Year and the Eagles are believed to be plotting a very audacious move for him. He has reportedly requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns which is a major blow for the franchise.

He wants to compete for the Super Bowl, and that is where the current Super Bowl winners step into the situation.

As far as Pierce is concerned, this sort of g for the Eagles would be a signifier of how their stature has shifted now that they are the Super Bowl winners again. They will be able to attract whichever player they like.

"You know what this is equivalent of, this is equivalent of Kevin Durant going to Golden State. Myles Garrett goes to the Eagles. I know what they are offensively, but defensively, it would be historic. When you win, this happens," Pierce said on SPEAK.

The Eagles are building

There is a real belief now that when you look at the roster that the Eagles have managed to acquire, with the great work from Howie Roseman, they could be building a dynasty that the Kansas City Chiefs will do well to battle against.

Michael Irvin recently spoke about the team that the Eagles has been creating and how the arrival of Garrett would be a very scary thing for other teams in the league.

"When you are winning and Philly has been winning, people always want to take the opportunity to win. These guys have done an incredible job of interchanging players and bringing players in and trying to continue to evolve their football team. This would be scary for the league, the thought of them getting Myles Garrett," Irvin said.
