Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson is facing legal troubles just days before the team's critical playoff matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Robinson, 30, has been charged with one count of misdemeanor DUI stemming from a November incident, according to the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office.

Robinson's arrest occurred shortly after the Rams' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at SoFi Stadium on November 24. Authorities claimed the wide receiver was driving over 100 mph when he was pulled over. During the stop, officers noted signs of intoxication, which ultimately led to his arrest.

In addition to the DUI charge, Robinson is also facing an infraction and is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment next month. Despite these legal challenges, the Rams have decided to keep Robinson active for the postseason.

Coach McVay addresses Robinson's arrest

Following Robinson's initial arrest, Rams head coach Sean McVay commented on the situation, describing the wideout as "remorseful" and emphasizing that the incident does not align with the team's values.

"I do believe that Demarcus has a good heart," McVay said. "Clearly, there was a decision made that's not in alignment with the things we want to be about."

Focus remains on the playoffs

Despite the ongoing legal matter, Robinson has remained a key part of the Rams' roster. Having started 17 games this season, he is expected to play in Monday night's highly anticipated playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Rams will undoubtedly hope the legal distraction does not impact Robinson's performance as they aim to advance in the postseason. For now, both Robinson and the team seem determined to keep their focus on football.
