- Cleveland Browns. Former Browns wide receiver heaps praise on Shedeur Sanders: "He looks like a veteran and can be the QB1"
- Cleveland Browns. Shedeur Sanders is already respected by the Cleveland Browns' defense; the quarterback continues to take steps forward
As the battle for the starting quarterback position unfolds with the Cleveland Browns, details are emerging about the relationships within the quarterback room, where a clear generational gap is evident.
Just look at the age difference between Joe Flacco and Shedeur Sanders to confirm it, and recent comments from Kevin Stefanski about the pair further highlight what we're talking about.
Kevin Stefanski's incredible anecdote about Joe Flacco and Shedeur Sanders
This was captured in a video shared by the Cleveland Browns on their official "X" , where the head coach discussed how his quarterbacks interact, while also praising the former Colorado QB.
"Just having him in the meeting room bring a great personality in there. It's fun to have. I sit right behind him. Joe is to my left to Shedeur's left and to see these two bounce ideas off each other is hilarious," Stefanski said about the team's day-to-day dynamics.
"Joe will say a few things and I'll be like 'Joe, Shedeur wasn't born... He wasn't born then," he added.
To put it in perspective, Flacco is 17 years older (40) than Sanders (23), meaning that when the former Baltimore Ravens quarterback was already playing in the NFL, Shedeur was six years old. It's also worth noting that Flacco nearly played alongside Shedeur's father, though his retirement came first.
Regarding Shedeur Sanders' attitude and performance, Kevin Stefanski concluded: "He's got a great energy, great kid, working his tail off and he's playing really well too." This helps dispel doubts about his attitude, or perhaps something has changed since his challenging experience before and during the NFL Draft.
Based on what's been observed in this pre-season stage, months before the NFL kicks off, Shedeur Sanders has left positive impressions, though it's expected that Joe Flacco or Kenny Pickett will start under center. As the season progresses, the rookies may get their chance.
Everything could shift if things don't go well. If the Browns' record is poor, changes might come sooner than anticipated, giving Shedeur Sanders an opportunity to shine.
