DeAndre Hopkins was certainly relieved to see the Kansas City Chiefs eek out a close win over the Las Vegas Raiders after an uncharacteristic mistake from the wide receiver.

The 32-year-old has proven to be one of the more reliable catchers in the league since being drafted out of Clemson by the Houston Texans back in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Now with the Chiefs after a midseason trade, Hopkins wasn't at his best against the Raiders after dropping what looked to be a surefire catch.

In the end it didn't matter as Kansas City held on for a 19-17 win, clinching their spot in the playoffs. After the game, Hopkins joked that he would be checking himself into therapy due to the mistake.

"I'm checking myself into therapy today! I dropped a ," he wrote on X.

Hopkins still put up good numbers in victory

Nevertheless, Hopkins ended Friday's win with four catches and 90 yards as the Chiefs improved their record to 11-1.

The game wasn't without drama however as the Chiefs looked set to fall to their second defeat of the season. The Raiders drove down the field and were in position for a game winning field goal in the closing stages of the game.

However Las Vegas quarterback Aidan O'Connell couldn't get his hands on an errant snap, which ricocheted off his chest.

Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton was quickest to the ball and recovered it, sealing the victory for the home side.

The result also means the Chiefs set an NFL record for their 14th consecutive one-score win, and clinched a playoff spot for the 10th consecutive season.
