The Kansas City Chiefs could not have gotten off to a better start - quite literally - in their search for a third straight Super Bowl triumph. Andy Reid's team is undefeated at 6-0, coming off of a convincing performance against the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch from last year's Super Bowl.

Once again, the star of the show for the Chiefs in Week 7 was Steve Spagnuolo's defense. In what has become a common trend, the Kansas City defense baffled the opposing quarterback and threw the offense for a loop, this time forcing Brock Purdy into three interceptions. Despite the defense playing lights out, fans continue to be concerned about the Chiefs offense. Patrick Mahomes wasn't much better than Purdy, throwing two interceptions himself.

Travis Kelce claps back at haters and doubters dropping painful facts about the Chiefs' success

Mahomes' struggles led to an extremely low-yardage performance from Travis Kelce, who only gained 17 yards on four catches. Kelce appeared to be turning a corner with two great games heading into the bye week, but he was out-shined by fellow tight end Noah Gray (4/66) on Sunday.

Travis Kelce has contributed heavily to success of Chiefs' run game

Kelce has played a more minor receiving role in 2024, but it's his work in the run blocking department that has contributed heavily to wins. Reid and running back Kareem Hunt both spoke about his blocking ability and how much it helps the team.

  • Reid: "He's so willing to do that. He just wants to win, is what he wants to do, and make sure we're doing well offensively. He isn't selfish that way".
  • Hunt: "I can tell, he's got to make those big blocks... he's been doing a big job of finishing. I appreciate that from him".

Whatever Kelce is doing is working. He has helped the Chiefs get to a 6-0 record and maintain themselves as the best team in the NFL.
