USA flag football quarterback Darrell Doucette started a war of words with two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes over who is the better quarterback, and a resurfaced video of his throwing motion has brought a new twist to the ongoing debate over who should be Team USA's flag football quarterback in the 2028 Olympics.

Video of Darrell Doucette's throwing motion goes viral

Doucette sparked an online investigation of his throwing technique when he sat down for a viral interview with TMZ Sports, in which he said, "I feel like I'm better than Patrick Mahomes."

NFL fans from inside and outside Chiefs Kingdom rushed to find out more about the current Team USA quarterback with one question in mind: Could this 5-foot-7, 35-year-old gunslinger really be the best option to lead the Americans to the gold medal at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games?

Who is Darrell Doucette and what did he say about Patrick Mahomes?

Darrell 'Housh' Doucette led Team USA to a gold medal at the 2022 World Games and followed that by winning MVP at the 2023 Americas Continental championship as USA went 7-0. He was offended by an NFL-produced promo video featuring Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts that introduced flag football as a new sport for 2028.

"I think it's disrespectful that they just automatically assume that they're able to just the Olympic team because of the person that they are - they didn't help grow this game to get to the Olympics," Doucette said in the interview before taking his shot at Mahomes. He later clarified that Mahomes is a better football player overall, but in 5v5 he is the better choice because of his game IQ and experience in the sport.

NFL fans not worried for Mahomes

But ever since the video of Doucette's real-life skills has been discovered, his words and accomplishments have not carried much weight to NFL fans, who shredded him on social media.

"If you have to put your entire body into a 10 yard , you probably shouldn't be playing QB," clowned one armchair quarterback on X, formerly Twitter.

Others ruthlessly said he couldn't throw better than their girlfriends or the average high school quarterback where Mahomes grew up in Texas. However, a few viewers of the video took up for "Housh," especially because he was attempting a with a similar difficulty to Mahomes' trademark throws, and it resulted in a TD.

"Mahomes known for his arm angles, but now we're criticizing arm angles? Make up your minds," argued a response.
