- Packers find hope: Jordan Love's ACL appears to be safe, awaiting further tests
- Jordan Love's injury is not season-ending, per recent reports, but he'll be off the gridiron for several weeks
It was a crazy first week of the season and it really has not finished, as Monday Night Football is still to be played, but already crazy scores, performances and injuries have been seen. That last part includes Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers.
On Friday night in Brazil, the team came short of a comeback against the Philadelphia Eagles and not only did they lost the game, but also their quarterback as Love suffered what appeared to be a gruesome knee injury.
After further tests, Love avoided a debilitating injury. However, he would be out 3 to 8 weeks, a lengthy timetable depending on more tests. Based on the previous, there is one person that stays very optimistic about a possible return sooner rather than later.
Matt LaFleur's wishful thinking
Green Bay Packers head coach, Matt LaFleur seems like he is on the thought process of Jordan Love getting back quick, as he said on a press conference even after the results of the tests point otherwise.
"If Jordan's not cleared, we will start Malik (Willis) and Sean (Clifford) will be the backup," the head coach said, and then he asked about what he meant during that first part. "I can give you a percentage but if he gets cleared, we'll give him every opportunity like we always will."
He also said that the team will not put Love in a position where, if he can't protect himself, there is no reason to put him on the field. While it is yet to be seen if he can play soon, that might not be the case even with an optimistic Matt LaFleur.
