During the 58th Annual CMA Awards, Peyton Manning, who co-hosted the event with Luke Bryan and Lainey Wilson, didn't shy away from mixing in some football humor-particularly at the expense of Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys.

The night kicked off with a performance by Post Malone and Chris Stapleton before the trio took the stage to open the show.

While the focus was on music, Manning couldn't resist adding a playful jab toward the Cowboys' less-than-stellar season.

Wilson kicked things off with a reference to a song, saying, "We learned this year that 'Cowboys Cry Too,'" a nod to the Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan duet.

Manning quickly followed up with a dig at the Cowboys' beleaguered owner, stating, "But enough about Jerry Jones," prompting laughter from the audience.

The joke comes at a time when the Cowboys are enduring one of their most challenging seasons in recent memory.

After a humiliating loss to the Houston Texans and an embarrassing stadium collapse, the team now sits at 3-7, with a home record of 0-5.

Opponents have been averaging over 37 points per game when playing in Dallas, and while the Cowboys aren't mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, the odds are stacked against them.

Amid the team's struggles, Jerry Jones has faced criticism not only for his team's performance but also for his comments about head coach Mike McCarthy's future.

With the Cowboys' season in turmoil, Manning's timely joke offered NFL fans a bit of comic relief, though it's unclear whether the joke will be as well-received in the Cowboys' locker room.

As the season continues to unravel for Dallas, Manning's playful commentary is just another reminder of the mounting pressure on Jones and his franchise.
