There are a lot of similarities between the Texas Longhorns and the Alabama Crimson Tide as they are both battling for supremacy in the SEC and in college football, however there might be more to it, as one running back sees.
Damien Harris, a former 'Bama running back, sees in Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning what he saw in Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts when they were in college, as he recently spoke on the Until Saturday podcast.
"There's a point in time where people started to wonder: 'Hm, I wonder if Tua gives us a little bit of a better ing attack (than Jalen),'" Harris said." ... His arm ... what he can do throwing the football can give us a better chance." That's he believes is going on in Texas
Quinn is the king, for now
While Arch Manning has gotten some playing time after Quinn Ewers was injured, for now he is still the starting quarterback of the Longhorns and there is no reason to believe that he will be benched, however some plays could be designed for him.
During the Saturday win over the Commodores at Vanderbilt, Ewers completed 27 es on 27 attempts for 288 yards and he threw for three touchdowns, he also threw a couple of interceptions in a tight 27-24 win.
While there could be similarities between the two Texas quarterbacks, there is no reason to believe that Arch will make Quinn eat bench, at least not for now but the point is valid coming from a former SEC running back.
