Kamala Harris brought a dose of fun to her virtual appearance at the annual Al Smith Dinner, thanks to a playful nod to Taylor Swift that delighted fans. While Harris couldn't attend in person due to campaign events in Wisconsin, her video message featured an unexpected cameo that stole the show-Molly Shannon reprising her beloved SNL character, Mary Katherine Gallagher.

Diana Glebova, a reporter for the New York Post covering the 2024 presidential race, shared a clip on her X that quickly gained traction.

During her segment, Gallagher performed a quirky monologue inspired by House of the Dragon, before slipping into a brief sing-along to Taylor Swift's hit "Shake It Off."

"Don't you see, man? We need a woman to represent us," Gallagher said.

"A woman brings more heart, more comion, and think how smart she must be to become a top contender in a field dominated by men. It's time for a woman, bro, and with this woman we can fly."

Singing the line "Haters gonna hate, hate, hate," she was ed by Harris, who chimed in with the same lyrics, giving a playful nod to Swift's fans and her own ers.

This moment followed Swift's recent endorsement of Harris and her running mate Tim Walz for the 2024 election.

In her statement on September 11, Swift declared her , saying, "I'm voting for Kamala Harris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them."

Trump's reaction to Swift's endorsement

Donald Trump, however, wasn't pleased. After Swift's announcement, he responded on Truth Social, bluntly stating, "I hate Taylor Swift!"

He also took another jab at Kelce during an appearance on Barstool Sports' podcast Bussin' With The Boys, commenting on the Chiefs tight end and further highlighting the crossover of politics and celebrity culture.

"I didn't particularly like having some guy that was lifting weights all day long and came from a bad neighborhood," he noted.
