Pennsylvania Secretary of Aging Jason Kavulich emphasized that since the expansion of the program, even more Pennsylvania residents have accessed this vital assistance, and encouraged citizens to apply and take advantage of this

"Affordable housing continues to be a central concern for our older adults. This program allows more people to remain in their homes and remain active of their communities," said Jason Kavulich.

The impact of the program has been significant. Last year, 522,434 rebates totaling $319.2 million were distributed, a notable increase from 2022, when 405,493 rebates totaling $192 million were delivered. This difference is attributed to the recent expansion of the program, driven by Governor Shapiro with bipartisan .

So far in 2025, the Department of Revenue has received nearly 400,000 applications, a figure that already exceeds the previous year's record at the same date. Authorities expect some 41,000 more people to the program in this new phase.
