- US News. Sean "Diddy" Combs accused of being responsible for Los Angeles wildfires
Fires continue to rage across much of Los Angeles and citizens are beginning to fall into despair as effective solutions remain elusive. Thousands upon thousands of people have seen a lifetime's work go up in flames. Some celebrities will be able to rebuild their lives with ease, while others will have to watch helplessly as their homes are reduced to ashes.
From the loudspeaker that fame has given them, several personalities continue to speak out about all aspects surrounding this fire. The latest is Kim Kardashian. The influencer urges Gavin Newson, governor of California, to raise the salaries of incarcerated firefighters who are helping with the devastating fires in Los Angeles.
Kim Kardashian: "These firefighters risk their lives to save us"
"In the five fires in Los Angeles, there are hundreds of incarcerated firefighters risking their lives to save us. They are working on the Palisades and Eaton fires in Pasadena, working 24-hour shifts," explains the content creator. These firefighters, through a program with the Ventura Training Center, have been given an opportunity.
Still, their pay is laughable because of the dangerous nature of their work. "They are paid next to nothing, they risk their lives, some have died, to prove to the community that they have changed. I consider them heroes and they do it for a dollar an hour," Kardashian says on her social media.
So the eldest sister of the influencer clan sends a direct message to the governor of California, asking that these wages be changed as soon as possible: "I urge Newsom to do what no governor has done in four decades and raise the wages of incarcerated firefighters to a rate that honors a human being who risks their life to save our lives and homes."
