Linkin Park's tragedy after the death of its singer: this is how a band that almost changed its name has regenerated

In the early years of the new millennium, there was a group that broke the musical mould of the moment. Linkin Park became a true musical reference for many young people and their concerts became real shows in which they enjoyed listening, dancing and sharing with other fans a show that many considered, in those years, as unique and unrepeatable.

The band continued to reap success and number ones in the music charts, the sales of their records grew and everything indicated that Linkin Park would become a cult band, however in 2017 everything took an unexpected turn when the band's leader Chester Bennington died suddenly, leaving a tremendous void in the band's environment and fans.

In 2024, Linkin Park was heard from again as the group's return was announced with a few changes. Emily Armstrong has ed as co-vocalist and Colin Brittain as the new drummer, in addition to the return of Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave "Phoenix" Farrell and Joe Hahn. All under the same name as the group, something that some fans have not looked upon favorably.

The debate was put on the table after the first concert of the year, a show in which they presented their new song 'The Emptiness Machine' and did so in a very personal and intimate concert in Los Angeles where they also announced their new album 'From Zero', as well as a tour, but this circumstance meant that fans, in the absence of Bennington, indicated that they should have adopted a new name.

Something that could be read on the social network X in some posts. "Emily Armstrong is an amazing vocalist, but I feel like she and the rest of Linkin Park should start a new project rather than using the name and songs of Linkin Park. Some projects deserve to rest with dignity, and Linkin Park is one of them."
