No one could ever envy the position Aubrey Plaza is currently in. Five months ago, Plaza endured one of the most painful things any human could ever experience: the suicide of a loved one. Plaza's ex-husband, Jeff Baena, took his life in January, and Plaza was naturally emotionally distraught.
Plaza has been slowly but surely reincorporating herself into the public eye in recent months. The wound is still fresh, but Friday night marked a big moment for her, as she attended her first movie premiere since the life-altering incident. Plaza showed up at the Cannes Film Festival for her movie "Honey Don't!", and it was a very successful outing.
Fans couldn't help but notice that Plaza was "glowing", particularly when she was beside fellow co-star Margaret Qualley.
Aubrey Plaza's film with Margaret Qualley gets rave reviews at Cannes
"Honey Don't!" premiered at Cannes and is expected to release on August 22. The film reportedly received a six-minute standing ovation by the crowd at Cannes once it finished.
It's a detective comedy film directed by Ethan Coen. Plaza stars as MG, a cop, while Qualley stars as Honey O'Donahue, a private investigator. Charlie Day and Chris Evans are the other two major stars in the film.
According to reports, Plaza and Baena's marriage had virtually ended months before his death. The split took a toll on Baena's mental health, and Plaza grew concerned about him in the aftermath. Plaza seems to be in a much better place now, thankfully.
