In a dramatic turn of events, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has decided to drop her father's famous last name, sending shockwaves through Hollywood and beyond. The highly anticipated court hearing on Monday was postponed due to a technical glitch, leaving the world on edge for the final decision.

The name change for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's daughter was delayed because the court did not correctly complete the necessary background check, a source revealed to Page Six.

Shiloh's lawyer, Peter Levine, confirmed the postponement, stating, "Unfortunately, the court was unable to complete the background check ahead of today's hearing, so the hearing was rescheduled for August 19."

"This is normal," Levine added. "Everyone undergoing a name-change request needs to have a background check conducted by the court clerk, and because of a clerical error, Shiloh's hearing has been continued to a new date."

Brad is not happy with his daughter's decision

The 18-year-old, who recently published a notice in the Los Angeles Times, has been clear about her intentions. According to court documents, she announced that she was dropping "Pitt" from her surname, changing her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie. The notice ran in the newspaper on June 17, June 24, July 1, and July 8.

Shiloh filed to legally drop "Pitt" on her 18th birthday in May, even paying for her own lawyer to handle the filing. This bold move comes amidst her parents' years-long, contentious divorce. A source previously told People that the "Ocean's 11" star Brad Pitt was "aware and upset" about the name change.

Shiloh has complied with all legal requirements

California law requires individuals seeking a name change to publish a request in the notices section of a newspaper in general circulation. Shiloh's decision to publicly announce her name change has not gone unnoticed, with the former couple's other children reportedly also dropping the "Pitt" moniker in public settings and school functions.

As the new hearing date approaches, all eyes are on Shiloh and her next move. The world eagerly awaits the final verdict, which could mark a significant milestone in the ongoing Jolie-Pitt saga. Stay tuned for more updates on this unfolding story!
