Alvaro Morata has history of finding the back of the net against former employers.

While at Juventus, the striker scored against Real Madrid on both occasions he faced them to dump them out of the Champions League.

On the only occasion he's played against Los Blancos with Atletico Madrid, he saw a goal ruled out for offside by VAR.

On Sunday, he and Real Madrid meet again in the Supercopa de Espana final in Jeddah.

Leading against Barcelona

Morata led the line during Atletico's semi-final win over Barcelona on Thursday, converting a penalty and setting up Angel Correa's winner.

In many ways, he took the team on his shoulders going into the last 10 minutes to help Los Rojiblancos turn their deficit into a place in the final.

It might have been even better for Morata, who crossed the ball that hit Gerard Pique's arm inside the area, but neither the referee nor VAR gave the penalty.

Morata's influence wasn't a coincidence. He's contributed in 12 of the 33 goals (36 percent) Atletico have scored this season with 10 goals and two assists.

Behind him, Correa has directly contributed to 10 goals (four goals and six assists), Joao Felix has played his part in five (four goals and one assist) and Diego Costa has been involved in five too (two goals and three assists).

Another competition, another goal

Morata scored in his 12th different competition when he netted against Barcelona in the Supercopa de Espana.

During his club career, the Spaniard has scored in LaLiga Santander, (38 goals), LaLiga SmartBank (12), Segunda B Division (one), Serie A (15), Premier League (16), Champions League (14), Europa League (two), Copa del Rey (two), Coppa Italia (five), FA Cup (four) and the League Cup (two).
