Brawls between fans of opposing teams have become far too common in sports over the past few years. When they happen, they are generally explosive and lead to damaging fallouts in various aspects. That is likely to be the case following the brawl between San Diego FC and Los Angeles Galaxy fans during Saturday's MLS match.

Taking place in the upper deck of Snapdragon Stadium, fans ran rampant and began throwing haymakers. The fight broke out after the game ended, so there wasn't a major security presence in that area. Some fans were pushed up against the railing, making for an extremely dangerous situation.

It's unclear what exactly led to the brawl. Obviously, tempers tend to flare particularly when a game is between two in-state rivals. Both sets of fans took it too far, though, and there very well could be repercussions on both sides.

How can Inter Miami fix their latest issues?

A few hours after the game, both clubs came out with a t statement, condemning the acts of those upper deck fans. The main message: "There is no room for violence in our sport".

The statement mentions that there will be a "thorough review of the incidents". That investigation could lead to lifetime bans for certain fans, if they are identified. One thing is for sure, though: there is a new rivalry in MLS.
