- Boxing. Gervonta Davis explains reasoning behind retirement comments: "The person I can become, I can see it"
- Boxing. Gervonta Davis has no love lost for Mike Tyson amid harsh criticism for Jake Paul bout
Boxers come and go constantly, but certain fighters capture the hearts of millions of fans and craft legacies that take eons to die down. Muhammad Ali is the first that comes to mind for many. Mike Tyson isn't far behind. Floyd Mayweather Jr. can say the same, but it's actually one of his opponents who seemed to connect more with his fans in his heyday: Manny Pacquiao.
The Filipino boxing legend won every title that was possible under his scope and fought into his early 40s. He then became a politican in his native country. In recent months, Pacquiao's name has come up again in boxing circles for a surprising reason: he's aiming to come out of retirement and fight at 46 years old. While he waits to see if it's possible, Pacquiao continues doing side quests. He recently met a true marvel named Katarina Kavaleva, one of the tallest female combat sports athletes in the world.
Who is Katarina Kavaleva and how tall is she?
Pacquiao thought she was trying to take a selfie, then laughed when he realized it was supposed to be a video all along. The two then had someone take the photo for them. Pacquiao couldn't help but tell Kataleva, "you're very tall".
Kataleva is, in fact, very tall. On her Instagram bio, she claims she is 6 feett, 4 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds. She's a personal trainer and boxing/kickboxing coach based in Dubai, and is also a "world kickboxing champion".
Pacquiao is already short for a normal person, measuring in at 5 feett, 5 inches. So the discrepancy in height was accentuated in the video. Maybe the two can share some notes and possibly train together in the future. Both sets of their fans would surely love to see that.
