- Boxing. The end of the Canelo era? Several factors put the Mexican champion in danger
- Boxing. The current boxer Mike Tyson would be 'afraid' to fight
The boxing world has been waiting a very long time for Mike Tyson and Jake Paul to enter the ring together, but Joe Rogan is not so sure about the situation from Tyson's perspective.
The entire storyline of the fight is that Tyson is a legend of the sport who is now 58 years old, whilst Jake Paul is in his 20s but has nowhere near Tyson's pedigree and nouse.
It will be Tyson's first professional bout in 20 years and the first time he has boxed since an exhibition match with Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020.
Joe Rogan is worried
UFC commentator Joe Rogan backs Tyson's right to do what he pleases, but he does have concerns about his physical condition given the fight had to be postponed to November thanks to stomach ulcers.
"I wish he didn't do it. I wish it wasn't a thing," Rogan said on a recent episode of 'The Joe Rogan Experience' podcast.
"I wish it wasn't a thing where a 58-year-old guy was going to fight a 28-year-old. That said, I fully his desire to do it. What, is he going to live forever? No, he's not going to live forever. Maybe he wants one more shot at it. Maybe his body can do one more fight. I don't know.
"He looks great on the mitts, but I can look good on the mitts, especially if you're watching 30-second clips. What you want to see is him sparring.
"You want to see him hitting the bag for multiple rounds. Let's see three rounds hard on the bag. I want to see what you can do. I want to see how your feet move. I want to see what it looks like if you're off balance when you're throwing combinations."
