Ryan Garcia's stunning victory over Devin Haney against the odds has been overshadowed by controversy following his failed drug test. Garcia managed to defy expectations and delivered an outstanding performance on fight night. However, the elation of his victory was soon clouded by allegations of doping.
Ostarine, the substance for which Garcia tested positive, is known as a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM). It is designed to attach to proteins in the body, enhancing muscle growth and strength. This has led to its popularity as a performance-enhancing drug in various sports.
"Everybody knows that I don't cheat," Garcia said.
"Never taken a steroid. ... I don't even know where to get steroids. ... I barely take supplements."
In the wake of his impressive win, Garcia took to Twitter to express his suspicions that he was set up. He suggested that his unexpected victory, which caused substantial financial losses for Las Vegas oddsmakers, might be the reason behind what he believes are falsified drug test results.
Garcia's winnings were significant, as he reportedly bet $2 million on himself to win, ultimately earning a $50 million purse from the event.
Gracia takes dig at Haney and Diddy
Adding to the complexity of the situation, Garcia's tweets included severe accusations against both Haney and rapper Diddy.
He implied a scandalous relationship between the two and even accused Diddy of being involved in more severe crimes, such as child trafficking.
"Nobody talking Devin testing positive for diddy's D Supplement that's messed up," Garcia wrote on X.
