A crushing blow hit the Chicago Sky in the first game of the 2025 NBA season. Indianapolis' Gainbridge Fieldhouse played host to Angel Reese and her team's 93-58 loss to Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever.
In their second season in the league, Reese and Kamilla Cardoso were looking to do better than they did in their rookie season, but they didn't get off to the best start. And fans wasted no time in calling for a former Sky player.
Point guard Chennedy Carter, who scored 17.5 points per game last year, but new Sky coach Tyler Marsh and general manager Jeff Pagliocca did not renew her contract and Carter left for a professional team in Mexico, where she has shined.
