Bronny James could be set for a move to the developmental G-League after recording just eight points in the NBA Summer League after being taken by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024 Draft.

The youngster bids to share the court in California with his father in the near future, but LeBron James' kid is finding the transition from college to the pros rather difficult and as a result, hasn't ruled out dropping down a level to continue his development.

"I'm just looking forward to any basketball I play," Bronny James told media on Friday, July 12. "No matter what level I'm playing at."

Currently with the South Bay Lakers, it would come as a twist to pre-Draft conversations as the 19-year-old had initially ruled out any entertaining of the idea of the G League as he bids to become a professional.

But through the Las Vegas Summer League, he hasn't managed to light the court up in Nevada and now could be set to open the door to another pathway to throwing es to his dad against the Dallas Mavericks or Boston Celtics.

Lakers' coach shrugs off poor form

Bronny was selected 55th in the 2024 NBA Draft by the Lakers, which gives LeBron the chance to fulfil one of his career dreams by playing ball with his son in front of the world, but that could be put on the backburner for now.

Shooting for eight points, he is 6-26 shooting (18.75%) through three games, and he's failed to sink a single three-pointer from 12 attempts as he its he feels like he's, "in a little slump right now."

And similarly, his coaches aren't too worried at the moment pointing to his age as a reason why he still has a lot of time ahead of him to turn things around.

"Shoot, he's going to have a long career," the Lakers' Summer League coach, Dane Johnson, said. "This is just the beginning.

"We just keep instilling [confidence], keep that in their heads. So, we've got a long way to go."
