Haliburton's generous invitation
In a heartfelt gesture, Haliburton appeared on 'The Pat McAfee Show' on May 19 to personally invite Perez and a guest to Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Pacers and the Knicks. Haliburton expressed his desire to ensure Perez felt ed and appreciated.
"I want to personally bring you and a plus-one out here to come to Game 4 here in Indiana. I'll bring you guys out here, put you guys up, get you guys seats to the game.
"The Pacers, everybody in our organization wants to make sure you're taken care of. The whole team is excited to meet you; it's all we've been talking about. Everybody's seen the video," Haliburton explained.
Perez, visibly moved by the invitation, expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm. As a firefighter, he mentioned coordinating with his department to secure time off to attend the game. The Pacers' organization has since confirmed arrangements for Perez and his guest to travel to Indianapolis, with accommodations and game tickets provided.
