TV pundit Charles Barkley has signed a 317 million dollar contract with TNT for the next 10 years. In his 16-year NBA career Barkley earned 40.6m dollars from the Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets.
The NBA legend is currently making 10m dollars per season, with his contract ending in three years.
"We're all a big family. Ernie, Kenny and Shaquille are brothers to me and I wouldn't still be here if it wasn't for them and all the amazing people who work on our show," Barkley said.
"I'm not gonna lie, though, this is a life-altering deal ... and I'm blessed to be able to do live television for a living."
The New York Post reports that 59-year-old Barkley could decide to leave his TV pundit role before his new million-dollar contract comes to an end.
Barkley wants to be broke when he dies
Back in 2021, Barkley explained the reason why he wants to be broke when he es away.
"Listen, everybody knows I like to gamble," Barkley declared.
"I wanna be dead broke when I keel over. I don't want to leave all that money for my free-loading family. I've been taking care of them my whole life. I wanna be dead broke at my last breath."
Fox to pay Tom Brady 375m dollars for NFL Commentary
Meanwhile, NFL legend Tom Brady agreed on a 375m dollar deal with the FOX network to commentate on the NFL for 10 years after he retires.
"We are pleased to announce that immediately following his playing career, seven-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady will be ing us at FOX as our lead analyst," read FOX's statement.
