Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano are once again on the verge of facing each other in the ring for a third time, with plans for the highly anticipated fight almost finalized for the summer.

Their two previous matchups have captivated fans, and now the rivalry is set to intensify as they prepare for another thrilling showdown.

Historic duels lead to an epic trilogy

Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano have already delivered two historic bouts that will go down in boxing history. Their first encounter shattered records, including selling out Madison Square Garden, marking a huge milestone for women's boxing. Taylor emerged victorious after a brutal fight, but Serrano's resilience and skill were on full display.

The second fight, held in Texas at the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul event in November, was equally electric, setting additional records and further solidifying their status as two of the sport's top fighters.

Both women have distinct styles that create an exciting and dynamic atmosphere whenever they step into the ring.

As Taylor approaches the final stages of her career, she had hoped to end it at Croke Park in Dublin or Las Vegas, but it seems that a return to Madison Square Garden in New York is now the most likely option for the trilogy fight.

New York or Vegas: Where will the fight take place?

Although Las Vegas' The Sphere was initially considered a potential venue for the third fight, its high costs have made it less viable. As a result, negotiations are leaning toward Madison Square Garden as the likely location.

Eddie Hearn, the promoter behind the fight, confirmed that talks are ongoing to finalize the event, with New York being the front-runner for the location.

"We're negotiating with MVP for Taylor-Serrano III to take place in America, potentially in New York," Hearn said. "There's two things that Katie hasn't done yet-one's Vegas and one's Croke Park.

If we're not going to Croke Park, we would quite like to go to Vegas, but at the end of the day, wherever the fight lands, it lands."

Official announcement expected soon

According to Hearn, boxing fans can expect to hear the official details about the fight's venue and date "in the next week or so."

The third chapter of this fierce rivalry promises to be another monumental event, and with New York likely hosting the fight, anticipation is already at a fever pitch.
