Shilo Sanders arrived at Tampa with a competitor mentality, as the son of Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders went undrafted but with plenty to prove to the NFL.
The 25-yeard-old rookie who played safety for the Colorado Buffaloes understands that he's probably on his final chance to make it in professional football, and he's not taking it by granted.
A hard-hitting safety who plays with good agression, Sanders has been labeled as a player that lacks consistency and playmaking traits. The time he missed during his college career due to injuries is another major concern for NFL teams, and ofne of the many reasons why most of the league didn't believe in him.
Shilo Sanders has an unexpected encounter
Shilo Sanders is getting used to the life in Tampa after moving out of Boulder, where he was living the last couple of years during his tenure with the Colorado Buffaloes. So far, the rookie has noticed that more than the heat, the biggest chance he has experienced is the humidity in the area.
His ion and dedication to the game has not gone unnoticed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans, as a video posted online shows. Shilo Sanders is walking through the streets of the Florida city when a man asks him if he's Shilo, to which the NFL player confirms.
""Welcome to Tampa. You look good out there on the field man. I'm excited for you on the Bucs man. Congrats brother. Keep working hard. We gonna you," states the man as he greets Shilo. The safety takes the advice with grace, as he appreciates the love he's been getting from fans who want to see him succeed.
Tampa Bay's road to the playoffs
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers clinched the NFC South in 2024, which earned the team road games in 2025 against fellow first-place teams Detroit Lions and the Houston Texans, plus a visit to the defending champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Buccaneers will also travel to play the always flashy Los Angeles Rams and the powerful Buffalo Bills, champions of the NFC West and AFC East, respectively. It is by no means an easy schedule for the team that won his last Super Bowl under the legendary quarterback Tom Brady.
And Shilo Sanders wants to be with the team for their search of greatness. The first he has to do is make the final 53-man roster, which the Bucs has to send to the NFL by late August. Shedeur Sanders' older brother wants to make a clear statement: he has what it takes to be an effective player in the best football league in the world.
