Kendrick Lamar's highly anticipated Super Bowl LIX halftime performance has fans speculating about what songs he'll include in his setlist, but according to rap veteran Too Short, one track should be left out. The West Coast icon thinks Lamar should avoid performing his Grammy-winning diss track, Not Like Us, arguing that it has already done enough damage.

Too Short shared his thoughts during the book launch for Hollywood Virgin by Jason Felts in West Hollywood. The event, which doubled as a fundraiser for the L.A. Fire Department following the tragic murder of his brother, saw the Blow the Whistle rapper getting back into his groove on stage.

A bold take from Too Short

When asked about the Super Bowl, Too Short made it clear he's rooting for "anyone but the Chiefs." As a die-hard Raiders fan, he isn't thrilled about Patrick Mahomes' squad dominating the AFC West. However, his main focus was on Kendrick's performance-and whether Not Like Us should be part of it.

Why Too Short thinks the diss track should stay off the stage

Despite Not Like Us becoming a cultural phenomenon and earning multiple Grammy wins, Too Short believes Lamar doesn't need to bring it to the Super Bowl stage.

"It would be a bigger flex for Kendrick to skip flaming Drake on sports' biggest stage," Too Short explained, suggesting that the song has already solidified its impact. In his eyes, the track is living "rent-free" in people's minds, and performing it at the Super Bowl would be unnecessary.

However, the odds of Lamar skipping the song seem slim. Not only did he win big at the Grammys with Not Like Us, but he also used it as his entrance music for a pre-show interview-fueling speculation that it could make the cut for his historic halftime set.

With the Super Bowl just days away, the debate continues: should Kendrick go for the jugular and perform Not Like Us, or take the high road and let the song's legacy speak for itself? Fans will find out soon enough.
