It has been more than a year since Jason Kelce walked away from football, trading in his helmet for a more relaxed lifestyle. After years of grueling training and strict dietary restrictions, the former Philadelphia Eagles center is now embracing a newfound ion-food.
With his playing days behind him, Kelce no longer has to count calories or stick to a rigid meal plan, allowing him to enjoy everything from burgers to tacos without guilt.
On a recent episode of The New Heights Podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Travis Kelce, the two took a break from their usual football banter to embark on a culinary adventure featuring some of Los Angeles' most famous dishes.
Their social media producer, Jake Chatzky, selected the items, many of which had even been served at his wedding.
Kelce's ratings
The first item on their tasting menu was a burger and fries from Heavy-Handed, a well-known LA burger t. However, there was one glaring issue-the food had been sitting out for too long, meaning the fries were cold and soggy.
Jason, who has strong opinions about french fries, refused to give them a rating.
"I mean, cold fries, it's just so hard. I can't rate this. For cold fries, absolute horsesht. There are certain fries that hold up well with age, and this is not one of them. Other fries that don't hold up with age are McDonald's. McDonald's are great if you catch them right out of a fryer. The moment they aren't hot, they are fckin terrible," he said.
While Jason was willing to try everything, Travis took a different approach. Being a notoriously picky eater, he refused to eat the burger, pointing out that it was loaded with onions-an ingredient he actively avoids. His dislike for white sauces only solidified his decision.
Jason, however, had no reservations and raved about the burger, even comparing it to a Big Mac but better.
"This is better than In-N-Out. This is better than Five Guys, he claimed.
Despite the burger not being fresh, Jason still rated it a 9/10, proving that retirement has made him a more generous food critic.
