Harrison Butker is one of the most talented kickers in the NFL, but the Kansas City Chiefs star made a mistake in many people's minds, and he is being punished by society.

During his faith-based commencement speech, he talked about religion, abortion and the LGBTQ+ community in a way that does fall into the ideas of many and colleagues and teammates have ben asked about the matter.

It was the turn of Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel to speak on this controversial topic in he was very respectful of the current situation that looms around the NFL.

"I think you do have to open the eyes of the players to their platform if they're new to the situation," McDaniel told reporters. "I think you have to understand that what you say publicly can be fragmented and last with you forever."

He went on to say that a person needs to believe what they say in order to say it but also know that there are consequences to whatever that person speaks off.

"I really emphasize that whatever you're going to say, you better believe it. You just try to educate people to understand the consequences of whatever they do. They have the freedom of choice, and if they want to go that direction, go right ahead."

Who else has been asked about the matter?

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked about the situation and he said "there's certain things that he said that I don't necessarily agree with, but I understand the person that he is, and he is trying to do whatever he can to lead people in the right direction."

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell also spoke of this matter via a statement. "Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity. His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger," he said.
