Matthew Stafford, the quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, has reportedly had discussions with the producers of Netflix's "Quarterback" about appearing in the show's second season. Although he initially turned down the opportunity to feature in Season 1, a team source has confirmed that Stafford will be one of the featured NFL players in Season 2.

Stafford, however, has been coy about his involvement in the show. When asked about it by The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue, he said: "To be honest with you, I've had discussions with those guys. I'm not sure there is going to be a season 2...I'm just more focused on the San Francisco 49ers, to be honest." This suggests that Stafford wants to avoid any potential distractions during the season and neither wants to confirm nor deny anything.

The Rams quarterback had a difficult 2022 NFL season due to injuries, which saw him sit out eight games. With Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp out of commission, the Rams won just five games and missed the postseason.

However, Stafford started his comeback season with a bang, throwing for 334 yards in a 30-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1. If Stafford does appear in "Quarterback" Season 2, it will be interesting to see how his discussions with the show's producers play out.

There's no certainty of a second season

Regardless of his involvement in "Quarterback," Stafford's focus remains on getting back to the playoffs with the Rams. With a tough NFC West division to contend with, Stafford and the Rams will need to bring their A-game every week if they want to make it back to the postseason.

While it remains unclear whether Matthew Stafford will appear in "Quarterback" Season 2, his discussions with the show's producers suggest that he is open to the idea. However, his vague response to The Athletic suggests that he wants to avoid any potential distractions during the season.
