That's exactly what the Silver and Black did. New head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Spytek took charge, making strategic decisions they believed would transform the team-and they delivered.

Ashton Jeanty Was a Home Run

Had the Raiders still needed a quarterback, they likely would have targeted one in the first round. Instead, they opted to bolster multiple areas of the roster, setting the stage for long-term competitiveness.

Ultimately, it was Ashton Jeanty, selected at No. 6 overall, who became the cornerstone of their draft. According to The Athletic, this pick is widely regarded as a high-value steal.

"Jeanty finished as the No. 3 player on both Brugler's final big board and The Athletic's consensus big board, and the Raiders landed him at No. 6. Even for a running back, that's a steal when it comes to draft value. The Raiders believe Jeanty has legitimate star potential," The Athletic reported.

Tom Brady's Raiders secured Ashton Jeanty, the former Boise State standout and the best running back available in the draft, with their sixth overall pick. The move was entirely justified, as the team had the league's worst rushing attack last season. This selection was critical, and it was executed flawlessly.

Jeanty was the first pick, but that doesn't mean the Raiders didn't make other savvy selections. And while it's no secret that Tom Brady's influence may be behind these decisions, the results speak for themselves.

The Raiders had one of the weakest rushing attacks in the NFL last season. Ashton Jeanty s a backfield that ranked dead last in both total rushing yards (1,357) and yards per carry (3.6). It's fair to say the run game was among the worst in the league, making reinforcements an absolute priority-especially under new head coach Pete Carroll, who is known for building his offense around a strong ground game.
