Odell Beckham Jr.'s career has hit a rough patch, with no easy way out in sight. The star receiver is doing his best to navigate the adversity, as shown in a recent social media post-one that earned a meaningful response from none other than Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes.
OBJ burst onto the NFL scene in the mid-2010s, setting the standard for future generations with his unmatched athleticism, flexibility, and gravity-defying catches. His early years with the New York Giants made him a household name, earning him three consecutive Pro Bowl selections.
However, a string of injuries derailed his trajectory. Now, after parting ways with the Miami Dolphins late in December, Beckham finds himself struggling to land with a new team. But Mahomes made sure he knows he's not alone.
Mahomes has OBJ's back
On Friday, Beckham posted a series of photos on social media from his recent visit to an Inter Miami game. Alongside the images, he reflected on his journey, writing:
"Where I'm at in my life... Hmmm, I'm really doing what makes my SOUL happy."
OBJ continued, "We all have different paths but are on the same journey-to find true happiness in this life, whatever that may be for you. F*ck the bullsh*t and everything else in between."
Beckham closed with a powerful message to his friends and followers: "Love on the ones who love you while we're still here."
Among the responses was one from Mahomes, who appears in a couple of Beckham's photos. The Super Bowl-winning quarterback responded with a string of muscle-flexing emojis-brief yet symbolic, a sign of encouragement for OBJ to stay strong through the tough times.
Beckham's future
Currently, Beckham is a free agent looking for a landing spot. With free agency and the NFL Draft behind him, his options seem limited-but not nonexistent. Teams like Mahomes' Chiefs or the Pittsburgh Steelers could benefit from his skill set.
In December, after leaving Miami, OBJ revealed he had a "short list" of preferred teams, though he never disclosed which ones. Regardless, fans are eager to see him back on the field, no matter the uniform.
