Mark Andrews' crucial drop seals the Ravens' fate
One moment in particular has left Ravens fans shaking their heads: a costly drop by tight end Mark Andrews that could have kept Baltimore's hopes alive. With just minutes left in the game, Lamar Jackson led the Ravens downfield, and Andrews had a chance to secure a game-changing catch. Unfortunately for the Ravens, Andrews dropped the ball, and with it, any chance of staging a comeback.
The dropped came at a critical point when Baltimore was trailing by two points, 27-25. Jackson had executed a perfect to Andrews, who had space and could have gained enough yards for a potential game-winning field goal attempt. However, the drop effectively ended the Ravens' postseason hopes, giving the ball back to the Bills and allowing them to run out the clock.
Chiefs and Bills set for another thrilling showdown
With the Ravens out of the picture, attention now turns to the AFC Championship, where the Chiefs will face the Bills for the fourth consecutive postseason meeting. Last year, the Chiefs narrowly defeated the Bills 27-24 in the AFC Divisional Round, with Buffalo's kicker Tyler Bass missing a late field goal that would have tied the game. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 215 yards, leading his team to victory with two touchdowns, both of which were caught by tight end Travis Kelce.
This matchup will be the ninth meeting between a Mahomes-led team and a Josh Allen-led team, with each side having won four games. The Bills are looking to secure their first postseason victory against the Chiefs, while Kansas City is aiming to make history by advancing further than any team in pursuit of a third consecutive Super Bowl title.
With the Ravens eliminated and the stage set for another thrilling encounter between Mahomes and Allen, the AFC Championship promises to be another unforgettable chapter in the rivalry.
