- Kansas City Chiefs. Who is Sabrina Greenlee, mother of DeAndre Hopkins, who was blinded after an acid attack and will be Taylor Swift's new 'ally'?
The Kansas City Chiefs scored a home run g DeAndre Hopkins. However, the team is not satisfied and will continue exploring the market to replace the weapons that injuries and bad luck have taken away from Patrick Mahomes this season.
The Chiefs' front office is not happy with Mahomes' numbers and the team's performance this season. From being one of the top six ing offenses for the past seven years, they have now dropped to number 12, with an average of just 221.5 ing yards per game.
Worse yet, Mahomes is currently ranked 17th in yards gained, with only 1,389 on 127 completed es out of 187 attempts. For the first time in his career, the Chiefs' signal-caller has more interceptions (8) than touchdown es (6).
Determined to resolve this situation, general manager Brett Veach will continue to hunt for prospects to fill the gaps left by injured receivers Rashee Rice, Marquise Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster, running back Isiah Pacheco, and cornerback L'Jarius Sneed.
Brett Veach's safari
In a recent comment on "The Rich Eisen Show," NFL insider Tom Pelissero said, "The Chiefs are definitely going to continue to be in the market. Brett Veach has shown over time that he's willing to do it."
Kansas City's needs seem clear: getting hands for Mahomes, for tight end Travis Kelce, and fixing a defense that is carrying the weight of the team.
In this sense, the $26 million contract for Hopkins seems like a good start. With just over a week before the trade deadline, Veach and the Chiefs' front office have plenty of time to secure another g to get them out of trouble and keep their hopes for the three-peat alive.
g Hopkins was a home run for the Chiefs
The arrival of DeAndre Hopkins to Kansas City shocked media and fans. Former player and analyst Rodney Harrison called the move a "home run" and was excited to see the former Tennessee Titan playing with Mahomes.
In an analysis for "NFL on NBC," Harrison felt that Hopkins, 32, will get his second wind in Reid's system. "In Andy Reid's offense, it's about creating mismatches and confusion... now they get an automatic number 1," Harrison said.
Fans will find out if Harrison is right this Sunday, as Reid wants Hopkins on the field immediately. The Raiders were the last team to defeat the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in last year's Christmas Day game, and the head coach won't risk that happening again.
