Jerry Jeudy's professional career has not been what he and the Denver Broncos envisioned when they picked him 15th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Through his first three seasons, he only managed to score as many touchdowns as games missed due to injury with nine. He showed flashes of brilliance, but his inconsistency kept him from consistently performing like an alpha wide receiver. He went into 2023 needing a breakout season; instead, it's been a nightmare. He missed Week 1 with a hamstring injury and has a 20/222/0 receiving line through five games played.

Jerry Jeudy blocks out the trade talk

The lack of production has plenty of people wondering if Jeudy could get moved before the trade deadline. Rumors have already popped up with his name as a trade candidate, similar to last season.

On Thursday, Jeudy was asked about the trade rumors and said that he blocks it all out. Whether he gets traded or not, he's "still gonna be me".

Jeudy doesn't sound like a player who's adamant about staying in Denver, although he says he knows how his coaches feel about him. A trade to another team could be a fresh start for Jeudy, while also allowing the Broncos to put more on second-round wideout Marvin Mims' plate.

Jerry Jeudy comments on Steve Smith feud

Jeudy's media session was filled with honest reflections, not only about the trade rumors. When prompted about his feud with NFL Network's Steve Smith, Jeudy mentioned that it could have gone differently if he knew Smith wanted to apologize for negative comments he made about the Broncos receiver in the past.

Regardless, the 24-year-old still would not have been overly friendly with Smith. Jeudy mentions that Smith was talking bad about him, and his character and background wouldn't allow him to accept stuff like that.

It's safe to say Smith and Jeudy won't be getting together for coffee anytime soon. Not even if he ends up on the Carolina Panthers.
